Social media platforms were instantly flooded with outraged left-wing activists labeling Tapper an “enabler” and a “sycophant” simply for conducting a civil interview. Discovery, CNN’s parent company. The latest frantic narrative sweeping liberal circles suggests that the multi-billion-dollar merger depends on staying in the administration’s "good graces," twisting Trump's call for a "normal path" into a sinister warning rather than a simple plea for journalistic integrity.

These critics are pointing to statements Tapper made just months ago, where he declared on air that CNN’s job “is not to try and please the president or only report the statements he likes.”

Yet, to the millions of everyday Americans watching, the interview was not an example of a network bowing to a dictator, as the left breathlessly claims. It was a rare, refreshing moment of a mainstream media anchor treating a conservative leader with the dignity the office demands.

The hysterical reaction from the left perfectly illustrates the tragic reality of the modern progressive movement: they do not want a free press or objective reporting. They want a taxpayer-subsidized, anti-Trump resistance echo chamber. And the moment a reporter steps off that radical path to act "normal," the left will immediately try to destroy them.
